Miniature Donkeys

"Sam and I have always farmed. Back in the early 1990's, I worked as a Vet Tech when a retired couple came in and said they had two miniature donkeys that they needed to find a home for, as they wanted to travel.

So of course I said I would take them. Charlie and Tommy were 16 years old and very sweet. I instantly fell in love with them. When you visit our farm, you'll see they're a very affectionate animal and the only farm animal that comes to you just for love - no treats needed.

It took me 10 years to talk Sam into breeding them because he didn't think I would ever sell any - but he finally said okay and we went out and bought two pregnant Jennys. Once the babies were born, we were both hooked. Sam & I have been raising them ever since and sell them all over New England. Their actual name is Miniature Mediterranean Donkeys and the ones from our farm are all registered.

Nigerian Dwarf Goats

Sam & I have always had a goat or two around with the donkeys, and in 2018 we started raising and selling Nigerian Dwarf Goats. We have a herd of about 20 with 9 of them being kids. They are so much fun - they play all the time and love to climb, get in tubs, or boxes - whatever happens to be in the barnyard for them. They jump around like they have springs in their legs and love to run and play.

Although it wasn't why we farm, the animals have been a big part of our success with the Bowl Shop. 95% of our shoppers want the farm tour and always have a great time with the animals."
